Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on sheet metal fabrication for agricultural equipment. You will develop and optimize processes for cutting, forming, and welding, and drive improvements in throughput, quality, and tooling design.

You will collaborate with product engineering on DFM, program CNC plasma/laser cutters, and support capital equipment projects. Strong CAD skills (Creo) and 3+ years in sheet metal fabrication are required.

Qualifications

BS in Agricultural, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience with sheet metal fabrication including profiling and bending equipment.
Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably Creo.

Responsibilities

Develop, document, and optimize fabrication processes for structural steel and sheet metal components.
Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling for plasma/laser cutting, bending, forming, and welding.
Drive lean initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework in fabrication operations.
Collaborate with product engineering on design for manufacturability (DFM) for fabricated parts.
Program or support programming of CNC plasma/laser cutters, press brakes, and robotic welding cells.
Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow assessments to support production planning.
Support the implementation of capital equipment projects, including machine selection and layout.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to fabrication quality.
