Carolina Industrial Staffing is seeking a Sheathing Line Extrusion Operator in Lugoff, SC. The role involves operating an extruder and other equipment to manufacture high-quality fiber optic cable products, with attention to detail and efficient production.

The Sheathing Line Extrusion Operator must be able to proficiently operate an extruder and any other equipment necessary to manufacture quality product in the assigned extrusion area. This role involves setting up and operating multiple production lines with strong attention to detail, ensuring good quality finished product at the final stage of manufacturing fiber optic cable, completed efficiently and on time.
The operator must safely operate and keep clean any equipment necessary for manufacturing product that conforms to quality requirements. They must read and understand masters, process sheets, and SOP manuals needed to operate equipment and manufacture product, and must complete and maintain all required paperwork involved in fiber optic cable operations.
This role requires the use of hand tools to set up, take apart, and operate extrusion equipment, along with performing all required quality control checks and inspections to ensure product meets specifications, including the use of micrometers, OTDR, gauge block microscope, and other equipment as needed. The operator must be able to run various extrusion lines within the department as assigned, consistently manufacture and maintain a quality product meeting required specifications, and keep the equipment and work area clean and organized.
Candidates must be able to read, write, and comprehend English, as it is the language used for all plant directives, document control, equipment operation, and supervisor and peer instructions. Candidates must also be able to perform simple mathematics to understand process sheets, masters, and SOP manuals, and to keep accurate accounts of materials produced, scrapped, issued, and returned to and from stock.
Operators will be required to supply their own simple hand tools and devices necessary to operate the extrusion line. Tools may be purchased after training begins, with the operator determining what is needed, though certain tools are required per Process Engineering. Candidates must understand and comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to attendance, breaks, and conduct.
Extrusion experience is preferred. Previous production experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience in continuous processing is also preferred.
