Job summary

South Puget Intertribal Planning Agency is seeking a dedicated SHEAP Coordinator to manage day-to-day administration of the State Home Energy Assistance Program. You will work under the Family and Community Resources Programs Manager, handling intake, eligibility, payments, and outreach for eligible tribal households across SPIPAs five member Tribes.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to travel within the service

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2+ years of experience in energy assistance, social services, case management, benefits eligibility, or a closely related program.
• Experience determining eligibility, managing application paperwork, or maintaining client files.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning web-based intake and reporting systems.
• Valid Washington State drivers license, insurable driving record, and ability to travel regularly within the service area.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Intake and Eligibility: Receive and process energy assistance applications in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Payments and Vendor Coordination: Prepare and track payments to utilities and approved vendors in accordance with SPIPA and Commerce requirements.
• Outreach: Travel to SPIPAs five member Tribes for intake and meetings; prepare outreach materials.
• Reporting and Compliance: Maintain program data and prepare required reports; enter records in state and SPIPA systems.
• Other: Attend required training and perform other duties as assigned.
