Job summary

NetServices (NSI) seeks a SharePoint Online Migration Specialist to plan, execute, and support migrations from legacy SharePoint to SharePoint Online. The role focuses on content, workflows, permissions, and modernizing processes using Power Platform and SPFx as applicable.

The ideal candidate has hands-on migration experience, strong SharePoint Online knowledge, and is capable of collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to deliver cloud-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience migrating SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online using migration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, permissions, and modern UI.
  • Experience building Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, including form design and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute migrations from legacy SharePoint to SharePoint Online.
  • Diagnose and resolve migration issues (throttling, permissions, workflows).
  • Prepare pre-migration assessments, inventories, and remediation plans.
  • Modernize solutions with Power Platform components and SPFx where applicable.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate legacy forms/workflows into cloud-ready solutions.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate tasks and provisioning.
  • Provide post-migration support and knowledge transfer.

SharePoint Online Migration Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, and supporting migrations from legacy SharePoint environments into modern SharePoint Online. This role focuses on ensuring smooth transitions of content, workflows, permissions, and solutions, while modernizing business processes through Power Platform and updated SharePoint Online capabilities. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across business and IT.

Key Responsibilities: SharePoint Online Migration
  • Execute migrations from SharePoint Subscription Edition into SharePoint Online using enterprise migration tools (e.g., ShareGate, Migration Manager, PowerShell automation).
  • Diagnose and resolve issues during migration, including throttling, permissions inconsistencies, legacy workflow dependencies, or unsupported customizations.
  • Prepare pre-migration assessments, inventory reports, mapping documents, content normalization, and remediation plans.
  • Modernization & Solution Enhancement
  • Convert legacy SharePoint customizations and workflows into modern SharePoint Online equivalents using Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx) as applicable. Assists with determine "best fit" replacements.
  • Collaborate with business owners to translate legacy forms and workflows (e.g., InfoPath, SPD workflows) into sustainable, cloud-ready solutions.
Power Platform Development
  • Build and enhance Power Apps connected to SharePoint lists, libraries, and external data sources.
  • Create Power Automate flows to replace legacy SharePoint Designer workflows and automate routine business processes.
  • Implement governance-aligned best practices for Power Platform deployments, ALM, and solution lifecycle management.
  • Experience with on premises data gateways preferred.
Content Management & Site Updates
  • Advise on content clean-up, restructuring, and metadata enrichment to improve usability and searchability.
  • Configure modern SharePoint sites, hubs, permissions, information architecture.
  • Partner with site owners to ensure alignment with governance, compliance, and user experience standards.
PowerShell & Automation
  • Develop custom PowerShell scripts (PnP.PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, CSOM) to automate migration tasks, reporting, bulk updates, and provisioning.
  • Troubleshoot PowerShell and API-related issues during migration or modernization projects.
  • Maintain script repositories, documentation, and reusable automation modules.
  • Experience executing custom PowerShell and managing site migration automation.
Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with project managers, business users, and technical teams to gather requirements and provide status updates.
  • Deliver post-migration support including issue remediation, user training, and knowledge transfer.
  • Create and assist with documentation, migration plans, and governance guidance.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Hands-on experience migrating SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online using tools such as ShareGate, Metalogix, or native Microsoft migration tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, permissions, site templates, lists/libraries, and modern UI.
  • Experience building solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate, including form design, automation logic, and integrations.
  • Proficiency executing custom PowerShell scripts for SharePoint administration, migration, and automation (PnP, Graph, CSOM).
  • Experience converting classic SharePoint Designer workflows or InfoPath forms into modern solutions.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 services including Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Power Platform governance.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700, MS-600, PL-100/200/400, SC-300).
  • Experience with SPFx, TypeScript, React, or other modern development frameworks.
  • Background supporting federal, regulated, or secure enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with taxonomy, content types, and enterprise metadata strategies.
Security Clearance requirement

Must possess active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this role.
