Job summary

Heitmeyer Consulting is seeking a Content Migration Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise migration involving SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and related document repositories. You will inventory, organize, migrate, validate, and reconcile content while preserving data integrity, metadata, and folder structures.

Responsibilities include assessing existing files, executing migrations across SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive, validating results, and resolving issues.

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Content Migration Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise migration involving Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and related document repositories. This resource will help inventory, organize, migrate, validate, and reconcile content across multiple collaboration environments while ensuring data integrity, permissions, metadata, and folder structures are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory and assess existing files, document libraries, folders, metadata, permissions, and content structures.
• Execute and support content migrations across SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other document repositories.
• Validate migrated content for completeness, accuracy, permissions, metadata, and folder structure.
• Reconcile migration results and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve migration issues.
• Apply document management and content governance best practices, including retention considerations.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to execute migration plans and meet project timelines.
• Support end-user adoption, communications, and issue resolution throughout the migration.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.
• Experience supporting enterprise content/document migrations.
• Strong understanding of document management, metadata, permissions, folder structures, and content organization.
• Experience working with large document repositories and collaboration platforms.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and technology stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with enterprise migration tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of content retention, governance, and compliance considerations.
