This opportunity is ideal for an experienced tax attorney seeking a long-term platform to expand their practice, advise businesses and high-net-worth clients, and play a key role in a growing Tax group. You'll work alongside accomplished attorneys across multiple disciplines while counseling clients on complex tax planning, transactional, business, trust, estate, and controversy matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise businesses, individuals, trusts, and estates on federal, state, and local tax matters.
- Counsel clients on tax-efficient business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, succession planning, and wealth transfer strategies.
- Provide guidance regarding tax planning, compliance, audits, examinations, and tax controversy matters.
- Develop and maintain client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the Tax practice.
- Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, estate planning, real estate, and litigation practices to provide comprehensive client solutions.
Must Have
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
- Significant tax law experience in a law firm environment.
- Experience advising clients on complex federal, state, and local tax matters.
- Experience independently managing client relationships and sophisticated legal matters.
- Existing book of business or demonstrated business development success.
Nice to Have
- LL.M. in Taxation.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, business transactions, or succession planning matters.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, families, privately held businesses, or trusts and estates.
- Experience mentoring junior attorneys or leading complex matters
Benefits
- Expected compensation generally ranging from $275,000 to $400,000+, depending on productivity, collections, and business origination.
- 15% origination compensation on collected revenue from originated business.
