Job summary

SR Staffing is seeking a seasoned Tax Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to clients, oversee complex tax engagements, and help grow the firm's tax practice in Portland, Oregon.

You will lead engagements from planning through completion, supervise staff, review Federal returns for C‑Corp, S‑Corp and partnerships, and develop opportunities for additional services while ensuring timely, accurate deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Progressive experience managing tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience.
  • Active CPA license strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory engagements for privately held clients.
  • Review and oversee Federal tax returns for C-Corporations, S-Corporations, and Partnerships.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for client tax matters and maintain relationships.
  • Support partners in identifying opportunities for additional services and client growth.
  • Conduct technical tax research and provide guidance on complex issues.

  • Balance multiple projects with deadlines and client expectations.
  • Review reports, tax filings, and deliverables for accuracy and standards compliance.

  • Mentor and develop tax professionals through coaching and performance management.

About the Role

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, oversee complex tax engagements, support business development efforts, and help drive the continued growth of the firm's tax practice.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory engagements for privately held and closely held business clients.
  • Review and oversee Federal tax returns, including:

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing priorities, deadlines, and client expectations.
  • Review reports, tax filings, and client deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes.
  • Analyze complex tax matters and provide strategic insights and solutions to clients.
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals through coaching, training and performance management.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Progressive experience managing tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience.
  • Certifications: Active CPA license strongly preferred.

Pay range and compensation package

Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000, depending on experience, credentials, and overall fit.
