Job summary

Penquis in Penobscot County is seeking a Shared Living Provider to open their home and support an adult with a developmental disability in a family setting. This independent contractor role centers on creating a stable home environment while supporting day-to-day growth, inclusion, and independence.

Responsibilities include providing a family-style home, supporting daily living, education, employment, and community inclusion; and working with the support team to help identify and achieve

Qualifications

• Background checks required according to state regulations.
• Must own/rent a home and provide a separate bedroom for the individual.
• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Maine driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Basic phone and computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently.
• Current certifications or the ability to obtain trainings including DSP, CRMA, and First Aid/CPR.

Shared Living Providers are independent contractors who earn a competitive tax-free stipend and receive a monthly room and board payment from the individual to help cover added household expenses.
