Job summary

Penquis in Penobscot County is seeking a Shared Living Provider to open their home and support an adult with a developmental disability in a family setting. Qualifications

  • Background checks required according to state regulations.
  • Must own/rent a home and provide a separate bedroom for the individual.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Maine driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Basic phone and computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently.
  • Current certifications or the ability to obtain trainings including DSP, CRMA, and First Aid/CPR.

Requirements
  • Successfully pass comprehensive background checks according to state regulations and policies.
  • Rent or own your home or apartment and provide the individual with a separate bedroom.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Maine driver's license in good standing with insured, reliable transportation.
  • Basic phone and computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently.
  • Current certifications or the ability to obtain required trainings and certifications, including DSP, CRMA, and First Aid/CPR.

Shared Living Providers are independent contractors who earn a competitive tax-free stipend and receive a monthly room and board payment from the individual to help cover added household expenses.
