Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Transmission Line Siting Specialist to lead environmental and regulatory siting for multi-state electric transmission projects. The role requires coordinating studies, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements while guiding route evaluation and project schedules.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, 2–4 years of siting experience (higher with SG7/SG8), and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Land Use Planning, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
• 2–4 years industry-related experience with at least two years of direct siting experience preferred for SG6/SG7 levels.
• 4–6 years for SG7/SG8 levels with direct siting experience preferred; proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office is desired.

Responsibilities

• Ensure siting activities comply with regulations and company standards.
• Organize siting studies and route selection to meet in-service dates.
• Oversee outsourcing related to siting and regulatory approvals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify buildable routes minimizing environmental impact.
• Coordinate regulatory and local zoning applications, prepare documentation and testimony.
• Develop schedules and monitor risks and costs.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and public open houses.
