Job summary

WSP USA is offering a full-time Structural Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 in our North Providence, RI or Boston, MA offices. This internship is for students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate civil/structural engineering program and is part of the WSP Summer Internship Program.

The 12-week schedule starts around May 17, 2027, with start dates flexible. Interns will assist with engineering tasks, research, preliminary design calculations, field work, and documentation, gaining

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil/Structural Engineering program; graduation Aug 2027 or later.
Must be 18 or older.
Demonstrated interest in Structural Engineering and eagerness to advance skills related to WSP’s projects.
Able to communicate effectively with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Capable of following direction from mentors and managers.

Responsibilities

Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
