Job summary

FiscalNote is seeking a Managing Editor, Politics and Leadership for CQ Roll Call in Washington, DC. You will help set the editorial vision for all journalism and content, with a focus on campaigns, members of Congress and congressional leadership.

You will lead a team of editors and reporters, determine content across CQ products, and coordinate with newsroom leadership to implement the editorial strategy for CQ Roll Call’s platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in a newsroom as an editor.
• 10+ years of daily journalism focused on federal policy and politics.
• 3+ years in management roles.
• Knowledge of CQ Roll Call systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of editors and reporters focused on the three federal branches and political campaigns.
• Help determine content for CQ products including CQ Magazine, newsletters, and website.
• Set plans for Roll Call print editions, website and newsletter content.
• Coordinate with leaders and editors to carry editorial vision across platforms.
• Provide feedback, coaching and mentoring to staff editors and writers.
• Edit and review coverage as needed and moderate events and podcasts.
