Job summary

Stanislaus County in California's Public Works Engineering Division seeks a registered Civil Engineer to lead design, traffic, or construction engineering projects. The ideal candidate will manage complex public works assignments, communicate effectively in meetings, and coordinate with staff, other agencies, and the public.

You will oversee studies, permit applications, budgets, and schedules, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with LAPM and CEQA/NEPA where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• Four years of full-time, professional civil engineering experience with at least one year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Possession of a valid Civil Engineer license (RPE) issued by the California State Board; CA driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design complex public works projects and manage consultant contracts.
• Coordinate with departments, agencies, citizens, consultants, developers and contractors.
• Prepare budgets, schedules, permits, and manage project files to ensure deadlines.
• Review field and laboratory tests and document findings.
• Represent the Department at technical meetings and public gatherings.
