Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking an Analyst/Associate to advance portfolio modelling and investor-facing analysis within a high-growth SFR/BTR real estate platform. The role supports fiduciary communications, financial reporting, and strategy implementation for optimal portfolio performance.

You will develop complex models, prepare performance packages, and collaborate with Asset Management and FP&A to drive investment decisions and operational processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CFA or FP&A background is highly beneficial.
• 2–5 years in investment banking, private equity or similar; real estate exposure helpful but not required.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with portfolio construction understanding.
• Highly proficient with databases and Excel-based modelling; able to chart and present in PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, Tableau is a plus; ability to read financial statements and term sheets.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve complex investment and fund-level models for leadership reporting and investor presentations.
• Participate in investor portfolio reviews to understand investment strategy profiles.
• Provide analysis on financial performance, portfolio composition, and capital structure.
• Prepare performance packages on portfolio progression including variance analysis and benchmarking.
• Collaborate with Asset Management and FP&A to support investment decision making and budgeting.
• Coordinate with Acquisition to forecast fund sources/uses and portfolio mix.
• Use statistical tools and optimization methods to allocate assets across the portfolio.
