Job summary

  • GED or high school diploma, or prior manufacturing experience.
  • Complete 3 months on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

  • Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheets to meet requirements.
  • Assist co-workers in machine setups.
  • Assist with wrapping and strapping material.
  • Report quality problems to Supervisor immediately.
  • Label problem areas in the liner.
  • Verify correct machine settings are in use.
  • Set sewing machine to appropriate RPM.
  • Attach leaders and keep them identified.
  • Fill out torch operator check sheets for each production run.
  • Verify rolls/innerbags match the construction sheet prior to line run.
  • Monitor sewn joints for defects and adjust as needed.
  • Clean machine parts per schedule.
  • Splice thread spools together as needed.
  • Monitor sewing machine oil.
  • Inspect spools of thread and daily needle condition.
  • Assist with positioning of joints and check welds.
  • Ensure press roller is down during runs.
  • Check propane tank weight daily.
  • Stay in assigned area and perform maintenance as needed.
  • Review supplies and report shortages.
