Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC in Martinsville, Virginia, United States is seeking an Extruder Operator for the night shift to monitor materials and ensure products meet customer requirements and quality controls.

You will read construction and customer sheets, program the electric eye system, load pellets, assist with machine setups, report quality issues, and maintain a clean, safe work environment on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• GED/High School Diploma.
• Satisfactorily complete 3 months on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully to meet customer requirements.
• Program electric eye system.
• Load pellets into extruder hopper.
• Assist co-workers in machine setups.
• Assist in tying down and wrapping material.
• Report any quality problems to supervisor immediately.
• Label problem areas in the liner.
• Perform maintenance duties as needed.
• Review supplies and report shortages to supervisor.
• Ensure drive roller is down prior to a run.
• Follow safety policies and keep a clean work environment.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
