Job summary

Select Sewing Service Inc in Indianapolis is seeking a meticulous Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain sewing and embroidery machines, including Baby Lock, Pfaff, and Husqvarna Viking brands. This role blends hands-on technical work with clear, friendly customer communication in a busy retail shop.

You will perform COA services, document parts and labor, order replacements, and assist with firmware updates or in-store setups.

Qualifications

Technical aptitude for electromechanical repair; sewing machine experience is a plus.
Detail-obsessed and well-organized with thorough documentation.
Strong integrity and customer-focused communication.
Comfort with hand tools and lifting up to 50 lbs; willingness to train.
Factory certifications (Baby Lock/Pfaff/Husqvarna) or service-center experience are a bonus.

Responsibilities

Triage, diagnose, and repair sewing, serger, and embroidery machines (mechanical and computerized).
Run routine COA (clean-oil-adjust) service and test patterns for quality checks.
Document notes, parts used, and labor in the system; order and track parts.
Coordinate with vendors for escalations and service bulletins.
Maintain organized service bench and uphold safety standards.
Explain findings to customers with timelines and cost estimates.
Support firmware updates and in-store setups; assist with intake and checkout.
Be available for some Saturday hours as needed.
