Job summary

LION TotalCare in Clarkston, GA is seeking a Sewing Machine Operator & Repair Specialist to repair firefighter gear to meet customer specifications, ensuring safety, quality, and timely service. You will handle sewing repairs, prepare machines, and maintain work area standards to support mission-critical equipment.

Location: 735 Park North Boulevard, Suite 114, Clarkston, GA 30021. Hours: Mon–Fri 7:00 am–3:30 pm with overtime as needed. Hourly rate: $18–$20; reports to TotalCare Center Manager.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with industrial sewing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of sewing principles and garment construction.
• Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machine (single, double, or multi-needle serger) to repair gear.
• Sew repairs to gear according to company practices.
• Prepare machine by changing needles and thread, oiling and changing bobbin; mount attachments and adjust guides.
• Meet delivery deadlines by coordinating with the team to repair firefighter gear on time and to high quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in sewing area.
• Other duties as needed.

JOB SUMMARY – Sewing Machine Operator & Repair Specialist

As a Sewing Machine Operator & Repair Specialist, you will be performing repairs to firefighter gear to meet our customer specifications and expectations. You will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, efficient service delivery, and maintain high-quality standards. You can help save lives.

Location: 735 Park North Boulevard, Suite 114, Clarkston, GA, 30021

Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Must be flexible and willing to work overtime when needed to meet client needs.

Reports to: TotalCare Center Manager

Hourly rate: $18 - $20 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate a sewing machine. Single, double, or multi-needle serger.
• Sew repairs to gear in accordance with company best practices.
• Prepare machine by changing needles and thread, and oiling and changing bobbin. Mount sewing machine attachments like needles, threads, pattern plates, and adjust machine guides according to repair needs.
• Meet delivery deadlines by working with the team to ensure firefighter gear is repaired on time and meets our high quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in sewing area.
• Other duties as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works well with other production associates.
• Must be able to follow instructions consistently with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to sew and follow sewing standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Must follow company rules and regulations.
• Ability to multi-task.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ years of work experience with industrial sewing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of sewing principles and garment construction.
• Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and organized.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and to meet all deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Standing, sitting, walking, bending as needed.
• Using proper lifting technique may be required to lift objects up to 30 lbs.
