Job summary

IFB Solutions in Asheville seeks a Sewing Machine Operator IV to operate multiple industrial sewing machines in a production line, following established safety procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities include checking safety devices, inspecting work before sewing, threading machines, changing bobbins, retrieving materials, and handling the most demanding operations within the line. Prior experience with difficult sewing tasks and meeting Level IV quality metrics is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
• Must have the dexterity to operate various industrial sewing machines.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
• Must consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level IV operator.
• Must consistently exceed production and quality standards of a Level III operator.

Reports to: Sr. Sewing Supervisor

Supervises: N/A

Summary Statement: The person in this position operates various machines used in industrial sewing following established work and safety procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Check all safety devices, assuring they are in place and in working order prior to operating the machine.


• Prior to sewing, inspect and repair any operations incorrectly done, including unacceptable stiches, on materials provided to you.


• Thread machine and change bobbin as needed.


• Retrieve/distribute materials as needed.


• Operate various machines, completing the most difficult operations within the product line in which you are working.

Non-Essential Job Functions

• Attend training and meetings as scheduled.


• Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.
