Job summary

Labor Finders in the United States (Georgia) is seeking a decisive sewing machine operator to construct and alter attire and other pieces. You will use patterns, intuition, or both to meet client specifications and tailor bespoke pieces when required.

The role requires impeccable knowledge of sewing procedures, machine mechanics, and the ability to repair minor faults. You will meet with clients, select fabrics and threads, cut, sew, and attach fasteners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience as a sewing machine operator.
• Ability to read and follow patterns.
• Knowledge of sewing machine mechanics.
• Excellent eyesight or corrective measures.

Responsibilities

• Decide on appropriate sewing techniques before work commences.
• Meet with consumers and inspect patterns to determine requirements.
• Alter existing patterns or create new ones.
• Select suitable thread and set up the spool.
• Cut, sew, and glue fabric according to article requirements.
• Attach buttons, zippers, clasps, and similar fittings.
• Operate foot pedal and adjust stitch length/width.
• Replace sewing machine needles as needed.
• Detect and repair basic sewing machine faults.
• Schedule repairs for machines and fittings.

Sewing Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Deciding on appropriate sewing techniques before work commences.
• Meeting with consumers and inspecting patterns to determine each job's requirements.
• Performing alterations to existing patterns or creating your own ones.
• Selecting suitable thread and placing this onto the spool spin.
• Cutting, sewing, and gluing fabric according to the requirements of each article.
• Affixing buttons, zippers, clasps, laces, and similar fittings.
• Operating the foot pedal, plus the stitch length and width regulators, as you sew.
• Replacing the sewing machine's needle, as required.
• Detecting and repairing basic faults with the sewing machine as they occur.
• Scheduling repairs for the sewing machine and its fittings, as needed.

Sewing Machine Operator Requirements:
