Job summary

Mancino Manufacturing is seeking a Sewing Machine Operator to support the production of foam and vinyl sports products. You will operate an industrial sewing machine, measure and cut as assigned, and help ensure high-quality output.

The role requires reliability, sewing experience, and exceptional attention to detail, with a schedule of M-F 7:00a–3:30p. Training and growth opportunities are provided within a family of companies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with industrial sewing machines and heavyweight fabrics.
• Must be reliable with sewing experience and attention to detail.
• Read and interpret sewing patterns and production drawings.
• Adhere to OSHA safety laws and regulations.
• Team-oriented and able to take direction.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for operating an industrial sewing machine to join, reinforce, decorate, or perform other related sewing operations to support the manufacturing of foam and vinyl sports products. Will measure and cut, as assigned. Will ensure the consistent production of the highest quality work.

Primary Responsibilities

• Fulfill sewing orders of varying degrees of size, difficulty, and types of materials (foam, vinyl). Measure and cut, as assigned. - 50%
• Read and interpret sewing patterns, technical specifications, or production drawings to complete assigned jobs. - 25%
• Perform quality control on all one’s work to maintain the highest level of integrity of the products. - 15%
• Adhere to all OSHA safety laws and regulations. - 5%
• Perform other duties, as assigned. - 5%

Total - 100%

Education - High School Diploma or GED

Experience - Experience working with industrial sewing machines, sewing heavyweight fabrics

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of how to utilize and leverage industrial single and double needle sewing machines
• Skilled in measuring, gluing, sewing, and cutting
• Strong problem-solving skills to overcome roadblocks and obstacles as they arise
• Strong communication skills to understand instructions and feedback and effectively implement
• Ability to maintain an exceptional attention-to-detail while adhering to deadlines
• Ability to consistently produce the highest quality work

Preferred Qualifications

Experience - Experience with heavy-duty materials or specialty textiles (e.g., vinyl, foam-backed fabrics, canvas)

Physical Demands

Will consistently lift, push, and pull up to 20-30 pounds on a frequent basis with up to 50 pounds on occasion. Will do a combination of standing, bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods of time.
