Job summary

STARK in Calhoun, GA is seeking a 1st Shift Machine Operator to operate industrial sewing equipment and fabricate carpet products with precision and craftsmanship.

You will read FWOs, select materials, align and sew to specifications, and inspect outputs to meet quality standards, while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area.

A signing bonus up to $1,000 is offered and training is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• One year of industrial sewing or machine operating experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of industrial sewing equipment and textiles.
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to fabricate carpet products.
• Read and interpret FWOs, specifications, and sewing instructions.
• Locate and verify the yarn and materials required for each work order.
• Align and sew materials according to seam allowances, stitch types, and tension settings.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet STARK's quality standards.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety policies.
• Work collaboratively with team members and assist with other production tasks as needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperatures exceeding 95°F in summer and cooler temperatures in winter.

STARK is seeking a 1st Shift Machine Operator to join our Fabrication team in our Calhoun, GA warehouse. In this role, you will operate industrial sewing equipment to fabricate high-quality carpet products while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and craftsmanship throughout the production process.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial sewing machines, including single-needle equipment, to fabricate carpet products.
• Read and interpret Fabrication Work Orders (FWOs), specifications, and sewing instructions.
• Locate and verify the correct yarn and materials required for each work order.
• Align and sew materials according to seam allowances, stitch types, and tension settings.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet STARK's quality standards.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety policies.
• Work collaboratively with team members and assist with other production tasks as needed.

Job Requirements:

• One (1) year of industrial sewing or machine operating experience preferred (training available for qualified candidates).

• Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
