Job summary

Stark Carpet Corporation in Calhoun, GA is seeking a 1st Shift Hand Sewer to join our Fabrication team. You will hand sew and finish luxury carpet products to our quality standards, ensuring each piece is completed with precision and craftsmanship.

This role requires reading work orders, inspecting materials, meeting daily production goals, and collaborating with Fabrication and Quality Control. A bonus program offers up to $1,000 within the first year; high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous hand sewing, upholstery, tailoring, carpet fabrication, or textile manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Read and follow work orders and production instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hand sew carpet and rug products according to FWOs and production specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and sewing instructions.
• Inspect materials before sewing to identify defects or quality concerns.
• Ensure seams, edges, and finishes meet STARK's quality standards.
• Trim threads and inspect completed products for accuracy and appearance.
• Handle luxury carpet materials carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
• Maintain an organized workstation and follow all safety procedures.
• Work closely with Fabrication, Quality Control, and other production teams to meet daily production goals.
• Assist with additional fabrication tasks as needed.
• Maintain productivity while ensuring exceptional craftsmanship.

Job Responsibilities:

• Hand sew carpet and rug products according to Fabrication Work Orders (FWOs) and production specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and sewing instructions.
• Inspect materials before sewing to identify defects or quality concerns.
• Ensure seams, edges, and finishes meet STARK's quality standards.
• Trim threads and inspect completed products for accuracy and appearance.
• Handle luxury carpet materials carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
