Job summary

Bradington-Young, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation, is seeking a Sewing Inspector for its Hickory, NC location. The role focuses on inspecting sewn parts, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with the Sewing Lead in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing and/or sewing setting.
• Experience in inspection in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as turning wrists, bending, lifting, twisting, reaching and turning wrists for extended periods.
• Ability to stand and walk for 100% of shift.
• Ability to raise up to 20 pounds from floor to waist height up to 60 times per shift.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve sewn product from Buggies, belts etc. prior to inspection process.
• Inspect sewn parts for accuracy upon completion of the sewing process including work order details.
• Return defective parts to operators for corrections.
• Sort inspected products upon completion of the inspection process including bundling cushions with associated product.
• Communicate with Sewing Lead and other departmental staff.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join our sewing team as a Sewing Inspectorin ourHickory, NClocation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Retrieve sewn product from Buggies, belts etc. prior to inspection process.
• Inspect sewn parts for accuracy upon completion of the sewing process to include configuration of work order details.
• Return defective parts to operators for corrections.
• Sort inspected products upon completion of the inspection process to include bundling of specified cushions with associated product.
• Communicate with Sewing Lead and other departmental staffing.

Candidates that will be a great fit will:

• Have previous experience in manufacturing and/or sewing setting.
• Have previous inspection experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Be able to perform repetitive tasks such as turning wrists, bending, lift, twist, reach and turn wrists for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and walk for 100% of shift.
• Be able to raise up to 20 pounds of weight from floor level to waist height tabletop up to 60 times per shift.
