Job summary

Hooker Furnishings in Hickory, NC is seeking a dependable Sewing Inspector to join the sewing team. You will inspect sewn parts, retrieve items, and coordinate with Sewing Lead; shift Mon-Thu 7am–4:30pm, Fri 7am–11am.

Requirements include prior manufacturing/sewing experience, attention to detail, ability to stand for long periods, and capability to lift up to 20 pounds. This role offers steady daytime hours in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing and/or sewing setting.
  • Previous inspection experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks (turning wrists, bending, lift, twist, reach).
  • Ability to stand and walk for 100% of shift.
  • Raise up to 20 pounds from floor to waist height repeatedly.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve sewn product from Buggies, belts etc. prior to inspection process.
  • Inspect sewn parts for accuracy upon completion of the sewing process.
  • Return defective parts to operators for corrections.
  • Sort inspected products and bundle cushions with product.
  • Communicate with Sewing Lead and other departmental staff.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join our sewing team as a Sewing Inspectorin ourHickory, NClocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve sewn product from Buggies, belts etc. prior to inspection process.
  • Inspect sewn parts for accuracy upon completion of the sewing process to include configuration of work order details.
  • Return defective parts to operators for corrections.
  • Sort inspected products upon completion of the inspection process to include bundling of specified cushions with associated product.
  • Communicate with Sewing Lead and other departmental staffing.

Candidates that will be a great fit will:

  • Have previous experience in manufacturing and/or sewing setting.
  • Have previous inspection experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Be able to perform repetitive tasks such as turning wrists, bending, lift, twist, reach and turn wrists for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to stand and walk for 100% of shift.
  • Be able to raise up to 20 pounds of weight from floor level to waist height tabletop up to 60 times per shift.

Shift: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4:30pm & Friday 7a-11a
