Job summary

Creative Development Studios in Beltsville, MD is seeking a Sewing & Fashion Design instructor to teach K-8 students for the 2026-2027 school year. This in-person role meets Wednesdays 2:30pm–3:30pm, with two 8-week sessions and possible multiple sites.

A material budget is provided and sewing machines are available depending on class size. A high school diploma, ability to obtain a background check, and at least 1 year in creative arts are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and ability to obtain a clear background check.
• At least 1 year of experience in creative and visual art programs.
• Experience with sewing (hand/machine/embroidery) and related equipment.
• English required; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an arts program that enables youth to develop their creativity.

MUST BE LOCATED within Prince George’s County area, Beltsville, MD, AND HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SCHOOL-AGE YOUTH. A Sewing & Fashion Design instructor is needed to teach students ranging from K-8 during the 2026-2027 School Year. Sewing & Fashion Design; open to various Sewing & Fashion Design techniques. This position is for in-person instruction. Pay ranges from $50.00-$60.00 depending on experience, and Classes are in two 8-week sessions. Also, may have multiple contracts at multiple sites.

Sewing & Fashion Design teacher needed to teach the basics of sewing and fashion design. A material budget will be provided, and 2+ sewing machines will be available depending on students’ ability.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

• High School diploma
• Ability to obtain a clear background check within the agency’s timeline.
• A minimum of one year of experience working with creative and visual art programs.
• Use of equipment and tools related to work.
• Principles related to the development of youth.
• Group leadership skills and understanding of group dynamics.

• Experience with various forms of sewing (hand/machine/embroidery, etc.)
