Job summary

City of Savannah is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support the Sewer Maintenance team at 230 Agonic Road. You will perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in repairing sewer lines and related infrastructure in a fast-paced public works setting.

Requirements include a High school diploma or GED plus one year of utility line and construction maintenance experience, plus a valid state driver’s license. Safety and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus one year of experience in utility line and construction maintenance.
• Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of sewer system equipment.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Skill in the repair and maintenance of sewer conveyance system components.
• Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work.
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
• Skill in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled, semi-skilled, and maintenance tasks in repairing sewer lines.
• Assists in the repair of sewer and water manholes.
• Assists in cutting and removing asphalt and concrete roadways.
• Operates various hand and power tools.
• Directs traffic around repair sites.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Repairs landscaping.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
