Job summary

City of Claremore is seeking a Sewer Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance tasks and operate equipment for sewer systems, streets, and related infrastructure. This is a safety-sensitive position with random drug testing and federal compliance requirements.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing sewer lines, using vacuum/jetter trucks, maintaining records, and assisting in snow removal and public works tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• 1–2 years of sewer system work preferred.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and CDL Class B with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Must obtain/hold DEQ water and sewer license at D level or higher within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, clean, and repair sewer lines, manholes, and lift stations.
• Operate vacuum and jetter trucks and other equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of sewer components.
• Respond to backups, overflows, emergencies, and customer requests.
• Assist in locating underground utilities and sewer lines.
