Job summary

City of Melbourne, FL is seeking a Wastewater Collection Worker to perform semi-skilled manual labor in the maintenance and repair of sewer systems. CDL-B is required with air brake and tanker endorsements, and duties include digging, backfilling, and working in confined spaces.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Prior sewer experience is preferred, with overtime possible to restore service as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Dig up and backfill sewer laterals and mains for location maintenance/repair.
• Clean and restore job sites; may involve sod, raking, landscape work.
• Work in confined spaces such as manholes and lift stations.
• Maintain order in yards and shop areas; clean equipment and vehicles.
• Paint lift stations, valve vaults, and related areas as directed.
• Work as part of a repair/maintenance crew.
• Read and interpret work orders and manuals.
