Job summary

The City of High Point seeks a Sewer Mains Specialist to support daily operations of the Collection System. You will contribute to SSO reporting, system cleaning, I&I management, and lift station monitoring, working hands-on with data collection and reporting to state agencies.

You will assist with field operations, ensure system records are up to date, and guide semi-skilled workers under City policies, delivering reliable service in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions for long periods
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds or more with assistance
• Must have or obtain Confined Space Competent person within 6 months of hire date
• Must have North Carolina Grade III Wastewater Collection Certification

Responsibilities

• Back-up ORCs for collections and assist in regulatory compliance.
• Prepare reports for Federal, State, and City agencies.
• Gathers information for programs (FOG, plant maintenance, wastewater) and records.
• Inspect pipelines, rights-of-way, and equipment.
• Coordinate with building owners and City Engineering to resolve water/sewer complaints.
• Operate specialized tools and assist in system operations.
