Job summary

City of Memphis is seeking a worker to perform internal sewer line inspections using CCTV equipment, flow meters, and smoke testers. The role requires operating a TV van and related gear to assess sewer conditions and record findings.

You will supervise and direct crew activities, coordinate with residents, and ensure safe operation and maintenance of equipment in outdoor environments including alleys and flood areas. Compliance with DOT rules is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• One year of experience in sewer line maintenance and/or construction.
• Valid Class B Tennessee Commercial Driver's License with N tank endorsements.
• Must comply with Federal DOT Alcohol and Drug testing rules.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal pipe inspections of sewer lines using mobile television with CCTV, flow-meters, and smoke test blowers.
• Locate line sections to be inspected and determine setup procedures.
• Operate control panel of the mobile television unit to video tape sewer line conditions and irregularities.
• Record pertinent data and prepare reports of findings and actions taken.
• Communicate with workers via mobile radio and discuss sewer line conditions with supervisor.
• Provide directions to workers for safe and efficient use of equipment and communicate with residents.
