Job summary

The City of Mishawaka is seeking a General Laborer in the Sewer department. The role runs Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a wage of $21.02 per hour.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, concrete work, sewer maintenance, and assisting in inspections and GIS tasks. Applicants must be at least 18, pass medical and drug tests, and hold CPR/First Aid and safety training. Candidates should be able to work outdoors, in traffic zones, and lift heavy objects while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or HSE.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass medical exam, drug test, and physical aptitude test.
• Possession of and ability to maintain CPR/First Aid, PPE, Hazardous Communications training.

Responsibilities

• Operates dump truck, forklift, overhead crane, and other small equipment and hand tools.
• Mixes, pours, and finishes concrete.
• Trains and assists with repairs of sanitary and storm sewers, mini cam inspections, locates, and GIS.
• Inspects and cleans catch basins/inlets.
• Establishes traffic control plan according to IMUTCD.
• Performs duties in work zone traffic and safety control.
