Job summary

TYLin International in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Construction Inspector to support sewer lining programs with hands-on field inspections, ensuring compliance with contract specs, safety standards, and municipal requirements. You will monitor quality, verify traffic control and materials, and coordinate with contractors and city stakeholders.

This posting gauges interest for upcoming 3–6 month opportunities within our PMCM team as new projects arise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field.
3–5 years of experience in construction field activities on sewer/water infrastructure projects.
Experience with sewer/water construction projects.
FE certification preferred, but not required.
Licensed Professional Engineer a plus.
GIS experience is a plus.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Inspect sewer cleaning and lining operations for compliance with contract specs and safety standards.
Verify traffic control setups and material compliance per project specs.
Monitor installation processes, permits, and overall field quality.
Document quantities and prepare reports for progress and payments.
Review sewer televising footage for condition assessment.
Coordinate with contractors, City departments, aldermen, and residents.
Identify defects and prepare investigation reports.
Support program needs through training, regulatory coordination, and safety documentation.
