Job summary

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority in Wilmington, NC seeks an entry-level sewer camera assistant to support operations, inspect sewer mains, and help with cleaning and maintenance of camera equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, six months of related experience, a valid NC driver’s license, and preferred NC Grade 1 certification. Training is provided; travel between CFPUA sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of related field experience.
• NC Grade 1 Collection System Operator certification preferred.
• Valid NC driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with operation of remote-controlled sewer camera equipment and video monitors for inspection and cleaning of water and sewer systems.
• Prepares and sets up equipment at job sites, including traffic control, manhole locations, and safety setup.
• Lifts and lowers camera crawler into/out of manholes.
• Cleans equipment after use and maintains associated components.
• Maintains equipment and vehicle in good working order and reports non-operable items.
