Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. is seeking a 3rd shift sewing operator in Glasgow, VA. The role involves operating sewing machine and knife to ensure correct sewing, running carpet through the J-box, and maintaining alignment during production.

Qualifications

• Experience operating sewing machinery and cutting equipment.
• Strong eye for detail and quality control.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machine and knife and ensure that they are sewn in correctly.
• Run carpet in J-box making sure it is running in straight.
• Watch J-box to ensure carpet is entering accumulator in proper position.
• Watch for torn leader or seams and re-sew them to prevent tear outs.
• Inspect carpet as it rolls into the machine to alert supervisor of defects.
• Keep J-box and accumulator as full as possible at all times.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management
