Job summary

Millbury Public Schools seeks a 1.0 FTE Severe Special Education Teacher for Millbury Memorial Jr/Sr High School. The role focuses on a tailored curriculum for students with severe needs and coordinating the SHINE Transitional Program to align education with post-secondary opportunities.

The teacher will act as liaison with community partners, facilitate job placements, and support transitions into meaningful employment, under the Office of the Superintendent. Immediate start.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Severe Special Education license required or Transition Specialist Endorsement preferred.
• Experience planning, directing, and assisting group and individual instructional activities that are engaging and multi-sensory.
• Strong curriculum design skills with ability to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Strong communication skills and background in partnering with parents/guardians.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement direct instruction for students during school year and non-community days.
• Maintain community outings aligned with program needs.
• Develop curriculum for post-graduate students aligned with academic goals and transferable skills.
• Serve as liaison with community partners and job sites for student placements.
• Collaborate with community businesses to provide local job and skill training opportunities.
• Support multi-disciplinary team members as needed to deliver Core Academic Support.
