Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
• No professional work experience required
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training
• Medication administration training provided by the District
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Basic knowledge of office equipment
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students
• Ability to modify curriculum and implement behavior modification techniques
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile situations
• Confidentiality in all aspects of the job
• Understanding of DHH/Homebound program impacts on learning

Responsibilities

• Assist students with activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs (Daily)
• Implement IEP accommodations and maintain progress reports with staff
• Prepare materials and assist with tests and attendance
• Assist with classroom events such as fire drills
• Monitor behavior and reinforce positive actions in ILC/SED settings
• Provide technical physical care as assigned (toileting, grooming, feeding) under nurse guidance
• Support online learning activities and help with technology in remote settings
• Prepare home assignments and aid students in completing work
• Maintain progress records and report observations to IEP team
• Troubleshoot technology issues as needed
