Job summary

SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC is seeking an Onsite Set-Up Technician for Henderson, TN. You will set up, operate, or tend various cutting and forming machines or robots, and verify first-piece quality and welding parameters.

The role includes maintenance and ensuring procedures are followed in a manufacturing environment. The position offers full-time hours with a focus on hands-on operation, equipment setup, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Onsite Set-Up Technician will set up, operate, or tend more than one type of cutting or forming machine tool or robot.
• Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure them to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Verify weld parameters and dimensions to ensure quality.
• Perform minor maintenance such as oiling or cleaning machines and adding coolant.

Responsibilities

• Have model changes to be used in the manufacturing areas to produce parts, in the same way to provide maintenance of the machines in the company.
• Verify that the first piece of the shift is processed correctly by the machine.
• Check that the welding, parameters and dimensions are correct.
• Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure them to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
• Start machines and turn handwheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
• Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Move controls or mount gears, cams, or templates in machines to set feed rates and cutting speeds, depths, and angles.
• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
• Set up and operate machines, such as lathes, borers, millers, drills, or auxiliary machines, to make metallic and/or plastic workpieces.
• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
• Perform the maintenance of the company's machinery.
• Maintain and comply with the procedures of your existing area.

• Subjected to metal particles and burrs as material and product passes through machines and to sparks from resistance welding necessitating the use of safety glasses for eye protection

• SSW Machinery (Drilling machine or grinding machine including with numerical control, borer, planer, automatic lathe, milling machine).
