Responsibilities

• Directs the work of employees in the department and ensures safety and quality standards.

• Maintain attendance and punctuality per company policies.
• Oversee line speeds, housekeeping, and area layouts for efficiency.
• Coordinate with supervisors and shift crew to meet production goals.
• Start, operate, and shut down equipment as required in the department.
• Travel to other divisions as needed.
• Ensure proper production records and process documentation.

The Team Lead will work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. May participate in making management decisions affecting the work. Includes team leaders who work as part of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties in a safe manner
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with Company policies.
• Directs the work of employees performing job functions in the department
• Responsible for training new employees as well as evaluating and retraining present employees in job classifications under his or her direction
• Interact in a professional manner with other employees/customers.
• Work overtime as necessary.
• Must know and be able to perform the work of any job classification under his/her direction.
• Responsible for process records and production of the job function he/she directs.
• Responsible for line speeds, efficiencies, housekeeping, work area layouts, tact boards being filled out, etc.
• Must be able to start, shut down, operate and control equipment in the Department, and frequently check their operation.
• Must be able to perform periodic work such as cleaning, making up cleaners and other solutions, and housekeeping.
• May fill the classification of Team Member. Relieves employees in said department. Assists as needed to maintain quality, production rates, and utilization.
• Report problems/issues to Department Supervisor
• Checks quality of work and product being produced. Responsible for producing parts to quality standards. Abides by Company safety rules and policies. Responsible for monitoring those employees under his/her direction to see that they perform their work in accordance with Conduct, Safety & Quality rules and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Help out as a regular production team member as needed from time to time.

Supervised.

Qualifications, Experience requirements:

• Must have experience and a working knowledge of the product.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must have knowledge of the current Bargaining Agreement and Company Policies.
• Must be punctual and dependable with an excellent attendance record.
• Must be computer literate.
• Ability to attain a certified forklift license preferred.

General Requirements:

• Able to travel to other divisions when required.
• Detailed and hands-on oriented.

Working Conditions:

• Office and manufacturing plant environment.
• Requires physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods.
