Job description

Overview

This position is based in our Whitsett, NC facility with a base schedule of Friday through Sunday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with the ability to work overtime as needed.

RegO® is the premier manufacturer of gas control products to the LPG, industrial and cryogenic gas (IG), and alternative fuel (LH2 and LNG) industries worldwide. RegO offers a broad portfolio of gas and liquid pressure control, pressure regulating products, pressure relief devices, and related equipment across industries such as health care, aerospace, electronics, chemicals, energy, and more.

Scope

Setup Techs are tasked with start-to-finish setup of mill, lathe, and CNC machines to produce high-quality valve and regulator parts. They read blueprints, operate manual and CNC machines, perform quality checks with various gaging equipment, and perform minor preventative machine maintenance. We are looking for individuals with knowledge or experience in machine operations, a focus on quality and safety, problem-solving ability, basic mathematics, and a desire to develop skills in a production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Sets up manual/CNC and mill/lathe machines to produce metal valve and regulator parts in accordance with machine specifications.
  • Starts machines, positions and secures workpieces, and engages bar feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
  • Reads blueprints and understands symbols for concentricity, runout, surface finish, machined/non-machined surfaces, seat areas, and dimensions.
  • Detects product defects, contains defects, and resolves issues.
  • Works through machine malfunctions, performs basic troubleshooting, and makes minor adjustments as necessary.
  • Replaces dull or worn tooling in machines using hand tools.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, and tool marks from products using files, hand grinders, wire brushes, and power tools.
  • Performs quality checks by collecting measurements and dimensions using calipers, go/no go gauges, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, concentricity gauges and other measuring tools.
  • Enters quality control data using Statistical Process Control System.
  • Performs minor preventative maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
  • Actively participates in the ECI 6S program centered around work area safety (organization, standardization, and cleanliness) throughout the shift.
  • Actively participates in Kaizen events focused on continuous improvement of safety and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
