Job summary

FCA Packaging in Tonawanda, NY is seeking a hands-on machine setup technician to join a small production team. You will set up and change over wire binding machines to meet specs and deadlines, reading job specs and ensuring precision.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting on the fly, adjusting settings to keep production on track, and working with limited supervision. Applicants should have mechanical experience in manufacturing or related fields and reliable attendance.

Hours are from 5:45-2:15 plus OT when needed

What You'll Do

• Set up and change over wire binding machines to meet production specs and deadlines
• Work independently and alongside a small team (1-2 others) to keep jobs moving efficiently
• Read job specifications and ensure machines are dialed in for accuracy and quality
• Troubleshoot setup issues and make real-time adjustments to keep production on track
• Hit setup time targets based on production schedules (BOM-driven)

What You Bring

• Hands-on mechanical experience (manufacturing, automotive, construction, or similar)
• Confidence using hand and power tools (pliers, drills, nail/staple guns, etc.)
• Ability to read measurements, work with fractions, and understand dimensions/tolerances
• Basic understanding of how machines operate (mechanical and/or hydraulic systems)
• Ability to read job specs or blueprints and translate them into machine setup
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Bonus if you've run or set up production machinery before-but not required if you're mechanically sharp and quick to learn.
