Job summary

VEKA - North America is seeking a production changeover support technician to help prepare extrusion lines for daily changeovers in a manufacturing environment. You will exchange dies, calibration tanks, and tooling, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and data accuracy to drive performance.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to work under pressure, and a valid forklift and crane license.

Qualifications

• GED or High School diploma or prior work experience.
• Must be able to obtain VEKA forklift and crane licenses.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to VEKA safety and quality standards.
• Prepare extrusion lines for production changeovers, including dies, calibration and downstream tanks.
• Clean water filters on lines to pumps; set up weather strip insertion tooling and punches.
• Exchange puller blocks; improve changeovers with team members.
• Record data in BDE database and monitor performance.

JOB SUMMARY: Support team members in completing daily changeovers by performing the following duties according to established VEKA standards. These standards enable us to provide a quality product/service to ensure our customer’s satisfaction.

Primary Duties

• Adhere to VEKA safety and quality standards


• Efficiently prepare extrusion lines for production applications, which include the following tasks:


• Exchange dies


• Exchange calibration and downstream tanks


• Clean water filters on lines leading to pumps


• Setup weather strip insertion tooling and nail-fin punches


• Exchange puller blocks


• Work directly with team members in driving continuous improvement initiatives that pertain to changeovers


• Ensure the recording of accurate data through BDE database to drive performance and key decisions


• Conduct visual inspection of finished changeover


• Maintain housekeeping of assigned work area at all times

Secondary Duties

• All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
