Position Overview

We are seeking dependable individuals to play a vital role in our upcoming local primary elections. As a Set-Up & Break-Down Operator, you will ensure the physical infrastructure of our democratic process is built securely, functions perfectly, and is dismantled safely. What Success Looks Like

On a day-to-day basis, success means arriving on time at scheduled locations across Santa Clarita, working collaboratively with your team, and carefully assembling voting booths according to instructions. You will handle cables, zip-ties, and touch screens with care, ensuring everything is securely connected and ready for voters. Because neatness and safety are critical, you will comfortably work under tables to organize and secure wiring. Over the course of this two-to-three-week project, your consistency, reliability, and attention to detail will stand out—and could lead to being selected for a Lead Operator role during our paid training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and dismantle voting booths safely and efficiently according to provided guidelines.
• Connect, run, and secure electrical wiring and cables, including working under tables to keep spaces neat and hazard-free.
• Mount and connect electronic touch screens, verifying basic power connectivity.
• Travel to various designated voting locations throughout the Santa Clarita area.
• Work productively as part of a team to meet daily setup and teardown deadlines.
• Project Duration: Temporary contract lasting 2 to 3 weeks during the primary election cycle.
• Operator Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour.
• Lead Operator Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour (Leads will be selected during training based on reliability, engagement, and communication skills).
• Paid Training: $22.00 per hour, with lunch provided, located in Santa Clarita.
• Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional weekend shifts and overtime may be required to meet strict election deadlines.
