Set Designer/Lead Builder

The individual will work alongside drama club directors to a concept, create, and craft sets to be used in the one annual EHHS drama club production (play/musical).

The individual must be proficient in the use of power tools and carpentry.

The required tasks will include:

  • Sketch out set plans, using hand-rendering or computer software.
  • Write a proposal for materials and cost for production of the set by the first week of rehearsal.
  • Work with director(s) to select the furniture, wall coverings, floor coverings, and large props to be used in the set.
  • Lead student and parent volunteers in construction and set painting.
  • Make changes to set as necessary in coordination with the director(s).
  • Ensure the stage is properly set up by a specific time before production coordinated with the director(s).
  • Analyze stage entrances and exits to ensure the set is situated properly.
  • Attends at least 5 rehearsals (coordinated with director(s)) to ensure crew members and actors properly use the set.
  • Ensure the set and stage is properly broken down and disposed of after use with volunteers.

Stipend Pay: $1,750
