Job summary

Merchants Capital offers an internship program designed to give students real responsibilities in asset management and insurance. Interns will support their assigned team with projects and administrative tasks, while being mentored by a manager.

The program includes a final project presentation to leadership and opportunities to progress into entry‑level roles. Participants benefit from weekly Development Days such as mock interviews, resume reviews, LinkedIn training, and DISC assessments.

Qualifications

• Sophomore year completed in college (or higher).
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a final presentation of your project results and recommendations to department, team members and executive leadership.
• Plan and organize a volunteer day for the MN office.

As an Asset Management & Insurance Intern you will…

Be assigned projects tailored to your department, such as:

• Policy reviews, onboarding new loans, corresponding with agents on non-compliant insurance coverage and disbursements, and reviewing risk rating reports.
• Plan and organize a volunteer day for the MN office
• Participate in a property inspection
• Have both a manager and mentor to help guide you through our program and your day-to-day work.
• Be given the opportunity to deliver a final presentation of your project results and make business recommendations to your department, team members and executive leadership.
• Have a better understanding of “what we do and how we do it” and be prepped and ready to enter the workforce.

Requirements

We are looking for…

• Students who have completed at least their sophomore year of college. College graduates are welcome to apply as well.
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution required.
