Job summary

Merchants Bancorp in Carmel, Indiana, invites you to join its Ag. Lending Intern program where you’ll support a team on meaningful projects and administrative tasks. You’ll produce analyses used in loan decisions and gain hands-on experience that can lead to full-time opportunities.

You’ll be mentored by a manager and a mentor, with opportunities to present your results to department leadership. The program emphasizes development through HR days, mock interviews, and networking.

Qualifications

• Completed at least sophomore year of college.
• All degree programs will be considered.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Exhibit teamwork, communication, critical thinking and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare FSA Annual Financial Request packets for customers.
• Analyze loan prospects by collecting financial information.
• Input data into analysis software and prepare recommendations.
• Assist with marketing projects and prepare for local fairs.
• Deliver final presentation of project results and business recommendations.

No coffee runners work here in the summer; you will do real work that you can add to your resume once you have completed this program. For our top performing interns, this program is our pipeline for many of our entry level full-time positions.

As an Ag. Lending Intern, you will…

• Prepare FSA (Farm Service Agency) Annual Financial Request packets to send to customers.
• Complete an analysis of a loan prospect which includes the collection of financial information.
• Input of the information into our analysis software, completing an analysis and recommendation for approval and preparation of mock documents for the associated request.
• Assist with marketing projects which include but is not limited to preparation for attendance at our local fairs, conduct farm visits with our Loan Officers, assist with various administrative tasks for our department and any other duties as they arise.
• The goal is that you will take what you have learned in your course work, apply it to your projects and then implement those solutions or recommendations.
• Have both a manager and mentor to help guide your through our program and your day-to-day work.
• Be given the opportunity to deliver a final presentation of your project/s results and make business recommendations to your department, team members and Company leadership.
