Job summary

Best Buy is seeking a Services & Warranty Associate Category Lead to assist with offer development and management of the warranty renewals portfolio. You will leverage analytics to track performance, partner across teams, and help define strategies to hit customer experience and financial goals.

The role is hybrid and based at the Richfield corporate office in Minnesota, with on-site work four days a week and guidance provided through the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Support category strategy development for Services & Warranty offerings.
• Execute offers and monitor performance weekly and monthly.
• Collaborate with Operations, Tech, Legal and Compliance to improve customer experience.
• Use financial metrics to drive revenue and attach performance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and periodic business reviews (WBR).
• Lead and influence peers to drive initiatives with limited supervision.

Job description

The Services & Warranty Associate Category Lead, supports the Services & Warranty Category Lead with offer development and management of the warranty renewals business. The Associate Manager will leverage a solid business acumen and analytical capability to perform regular business performance management activities, ensuring the business performance delivers on objectives. This person will partner with Sr. Manager, Services Categories, Category Management, Services Fulfillment, Digital and Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Legal teams to help define and execute a strategy that delivers the customer experience and financial goals of the business.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

Category Performance and Offer Management

• Supports the Sr. Manager in the development of category strategy for the Services and Warranty business.
• Execute offer and business strategy and monitor performance on weekly and monthly basis and adjust as needed.
• Partnership with Operations and Technology teams on identification and resolution of issues impacting the customer experience.
• Leverage financial metrics and analytics to drive performance across Revenue and Attach.
• Support and partner with teams to reduce costs from the Warranty business where appropriate while considering customer experience impacts.

Business Planning and Performance Evaluation

• Manage the business performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence for their categories. Responsible for the WBR process and the summary documents and recaps needed each week and month
• Partner with operations teams to manage and report on the health of the warranty renewals business

Digital Customer Experience

• Monitor digital customer experiences and act as category expert with cross functional partners to manage and improve customer experience.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Marketing and Customer Communications Teams to ensure digital experiences are compliant and updated as needed.
• Partner with Category lead to develop and execute digital strategy across digital channels, partner with DAT product managers to develop iterative updates to experiences to improve conversion rate and customer experience.

Financial Forecast and Budgeting

• Monitor P&L performance for a category / sub-category and develop action plans to meet financial goals. This happens on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Leadership

• Positively influence those around you and represent the voice of the customer and business with various cross-functional and horizontal partnerships. Build relationships with internal and external partners to advance the work.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years retail industry experience, with background in functions such as merchandising/buying, demand planning, ecommerce, marketing, operations, customer experience, vendor management, supply chain, etc.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to identify opportunities to improve a business or process
• Experience providing indirect leadership and influencing others
• Ability to work proactively and execute with limited supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of mentoring, cross-functional team management, or influencing without authority
• 1 year of experience in vendor partnership and negotiation
• Working knowledge of financial planning
• Sound understanding of merchandising functions and disciplines and go-to-market tactics
• Sound understanding of ecommerce business
• Ability to operate effectively in high pressure situations and make accurate decisions quickly
