Job summary

Insight Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Services Technician for our Hanover Park, Illinois office. You will perform installation, modification, repair, testing, and servicing on systems and communications equipment, including hardware, software configuration, and network cabling.

The role emphasizes remote support, network equipment configuration, and hands-on diagnostics. Candidates should have a BA/BS or 2 years related experience, and be able to work onsite in a fast-paced, people-first

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years related experience (or equivalent)
• LANs, WANs, personal computers, messaging and server software experience
• Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques
• Remotely manage devices to determine user experiences and debug issues
• Ability to communicate in English to fulfill job functions

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and peripheral repairs and identify problems for efficient resolution
• Provide telephone/remote support for a dispersed user base
• Install, test, and configure network and data communication equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs)
• Other duties as assigned

As a Services Technician with Insight, you will be performing installation, modification, repair, testing and/or servicing on systems and communications equipment, including, but not limited to: hardware and peripherals; software configuration; voice, video and data cabling systems; and networks.

As a Services Technician you will get to:

• Perform necessary hardware and peripheral repairs. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying the problem and determining the most efficient and cost effective way to resolve the problem, keeping customer downtime to a minimum.
• Provide telephone support for a geographically dispersed user community using a combination of desktop remote control products
• Install, test, and configure network and data communication equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, VPN devices, etc
• Other duties as assigned

We are looking for a Services Technician with:

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• LANs, WANs, Personal Computers,messagingand server software applications experience required.
• Cable plants, network services, email, bulletin boards, and CD-ROM libraries needed.
• Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques required.
• Remotely manage devices todetermineuser experiences and debugissue,utilizingknowledge base and call script skills required.
• Must be able to work with both ends of basic level testing as well as high level testing and
• documentation.
• Ability to communicate in and understand English to the extent necessary to fulfill/perform the essential job functions
