Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a detail-oriented Service Writer for a heavy equipment company in Commerce City, CO. This role acts as the main liaison between customers and the service department, documenting repair orders and coordinating service work.

You will ensure timely communication with customers, verify warranties, and track work through to completion, contributing to peak equipment performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Related industry experience may be substituted for formal education.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor, review, and assist with closing service work orders.
• Determine equipment warranty eligibility and communicate warranty status to customers prior to service being performed.
• Coordinate with the Service Manager to ensure repairs are completed within quoted or estimated labor hours.
• Verify customer authorizations are obtained before work begins and ensure required signatures are collected when necessary.
• Review completed work orders and compare final invoices with original service proposals to ensure customer expectations have been met.
• Assist with the daily administrative operations of the Service Department.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and internal team members throughout the repair process.

• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and answering phones.
• Frequent communication by phone and in person.
• Ability to read computer screens, paperwork, and service documentation.
• Occasional walking throughout the facility, including uneven surfaces.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and file documents as needed throughout the workday.
