Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Senior VFD Technician to install, troubleshoot, and commission VFD systems for clients in NY/NJ. You will diagnose faults, perform on-site repairs, and carry out preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation.

You will read electrical drawings, coordinate with management, and work with a knowledgeable team to deliver high-quality service, all while maintaining safety standards and keeping customers informed of progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and PID/fabrication drawings.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, start-up, commission and verify proper functionality of VFD systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform on-site repairs.
• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships and provide options for upgrades.

Role: VFD TechnicianWe are looking for a Senior VFD technician to install and repair VFD systems for our clients in the NY/NJ area. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of VFD units out in the field. You will also be required to respond to equipment breakdowns, conduct on-site repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and advise on equipment upgrades. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company, work on premium products and be a part of a great and knowledgeable team.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, start-up, commission and verify proper functionality of multiple brands of VFD’s.Work with management to run an efficient service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives.Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral businessMaintain high-quality service repairs and minimize callbacksKeep management and customer informed of job progress and issuesProvide valid options for additional work and service based on established protocolsPrioritize following safety procedures and maintain a constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of others.Requirements:Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)Valid driver’s license required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights/a ladderStrong working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits.Can read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical drawings, safety rules, operations manual, and written directions including reading and understanding PID's, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematicsPossess installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systemsOSHA 30SSTAbility to prepare inspection and appraisal reportsTeam player with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.Mechanical Assembly and Troubleshooting SkillsBasic Computer SkillsExperience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 MA & 0-10 Vdc devicesExceptional ability to work independently without direct supervisionPrior experience with gas detection systems, & DriSteem Humidifiers is a plusEstimated Salary: $45 - $64 hourly, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
