Job summary

Custom Truck One Source is seeking a Service Technician / Mechanic in Sacramento. You will diagnose and repair a range of vocational trucks and equipment, prioritize safety, and document work orders. Role requires experience with diesel engines and heavy machinery, plus own tools.

Includes standard Monday–Friday hours with overtime as needed, valid driver's license, and a pathway through CTOS training programs. Competitive benefits and a STEP program support ongoing development.

Qualifications

• General mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic, electrical systems.
• Basic computer skills for documenting repair activity.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace worn parts on vocational trucks and equipment.
• Provide repair and maintenance to medium/heavy duty trucks; hydraulics/electrical knowledge a plus.
• Prepare and maintain repair records to track costs for accurate pricing.

Hiring Service Technician / Mechanic

Experience with truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes; construction, mining, farm equipment.

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with overtime as needed.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and mechanics tools.

Job Duties:

• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment.
• Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company.
• Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected.
• Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
• Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Skills:

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Experience with diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment. (construction, farm, military)
• General mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, construction, farm, or truck
• Basic Computer skills and ability to document repair activity.

Preferred Skills:

• Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus
• 3 plus years maintenance and repair of Utility Trucks and Equipment.
• Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must have your own tools.
